Nope

Sometimes I swatch to see if I like the yarn.  In this case it's a resounding "no!"

The yarn has all the right ingredients: good colors, interesting fiber combination (cotton and chenille), and it's very nice to knit with, but it looks too cute for a sophisticated urban woman such as myself to wear (stop laughing).

That's okay.  Shannon pointed out that this yarn will make an excellent baby knit.  It's not a bad idea to have the supplies for a baby sweater or two on hand, just in case.  So, back to the stash box it goes, awaiting a wee recipient.

Do you know what this means?  I'll have to go yarn shopping for my next summer knit, and I have a Rowan itch like you would not believe.

I'm in a constant state of Rowan itch. VERY hard on the wallet, but oh so worth it on the hands!

that is a perfect yarn for a baby! especially if you don't know the sex...

Thay yarn knits up beautifully for a baby project--sorry it did not work for you!

Ah, the Rowan itch is always attacking me as well...

Take care, and I hope you have a nice week :)

I totally understand the Rowan itch! I want tons of Rowan Glace and Rowan cotton wool to make an afghan with! I also am having Debbie Bliss dreams if you could imagine that!

I like that yarn and think it would make something cute, but its hard to tell from the pictures exactly. Good luck finding new yarn!

Yeah, I've got a Rowan itch nowadays, ever since I fondled all the Rowan at Wild & Woolly. http://www.theknittinggarden.com has a great Rowan selection, they will order specific colors for you if you want an entire bag, they'll send you a coupon code for 10% off if you sign up for their e-mail list, and there's free shipping on orders over $75. Their prices are list prices, same as W & W, before the coupon. Also check out Jannette (http://stores.ebay.com/Jannettes-Rare-Yarns), although with shipping her stuff is sometimes the same price as in the States.

Me? An enabler? Psssshhhh!!!

I think it's pretty....the swatch that is. :)

What is it? It's interesting, certainly ... is it soft? And I hear you on the Rowan itch - I have a serious Calmer craving.

I really like the yarn and the swatch - what kind of yarn is it?

I think it will be great for a baby project - suitable to either sex.

Rowan...sigh...there are so many great yarns. I am personally a fan of ebay and janet's rare yarns - she has great deals and theres a bit out there if you are willing to look.

You made the right decision. :)

There is no cure for a Rowan itch, you just have to scratch.

To scratch that Rowan itch, check out Cumberpatch UK (another eBay store):

http://stores.ebay.com/Cucumberpatch-UK

She has a pretty good selection and prices and the lowest overseas shipping rates I've found yet!
